Friday-Ad gets a fresh new look!

For the last 44 years, Friday-Ad has been printed by us. But for a variety of reasons, Newsquest, based in Weymouth, will be responsible for making sure Friday-Ad hits the newsstands every week. As this door closes, another one opens and so we used the opportunity to reinvent the magazine to take full advantage of the change.

Full colour

The new magazine is for the first time full colour. 20 years ago we introduced colour pages into the magazine, but this was still only available on a first-come-first-served basis. Now, every colour of the rainbow is available to every single advertiser – no more squabbling over who gets the colour pages.

More community content

We asked you replied and we listened. The new magazine will have more community content than ever, including community news and events. It means we can use our readership to promote charity events, plus publish news from local schools, sports clubs and societies.


Modernised branding

The magazine will be your first sneak-peak at Friday-Ad’s new brand being worked on in our Barcelona design hub. You’ll start seeing this rolled out over the next year across various platforms. It is more colourful, vibrant and fun.

Clearer, easier-to-read adverts

We have used a new easier-to-read typeface to make finding those bargains even less of a headache. We are planning to make further improvements to the way adverts like this are displayed too, so keep your eyes peeled.


Glossy pages

We now have the option to include glossy pages inserted into the centre of the magazine. These will be used for features and are also available to advertisers to stand out from the crowd. It really is the best way to present your brand to our engaged readers.

Handier size

We’ve always used recycled paper for our publications, but now the handier size means even less paper is wasted while also being a more convenient size.

There are plenty more changes planned for the magazine, and we’re really looking forward to hearing feedback from our readers and advertisers so that we can make sure the magazine goes from strength to strength in the future for many more years to come.
